Dear Shettlers –

August 3rd is just around the corner – which means we look forward to seeing you soon at the Shettler Reunion! We’re excited to reconnect with the Shettler clan, and are looking forward to lots of family fun (check out the schedule below)!

A few reminders:

• The PICNIC on FRIDAY evening will be at East Union Mennonite Church (if it is hot, we’ll use the fellowship hall, but if the weather permits we will use the outdoor picnic area).  Local relatives: please bring lawn chairs and a salad/side dish to accompany pulled pork sandwiches, chips, and baked beans that will be catered. We will accept donations to cover the cost of catering; paper products and drinks will be provided for everyone.

• The BANANA SPLIT will also take place on FRIDAY at the picnic

• Please remember to wear your family COLOR on Saturday. (Elsie’s branch – red, Grace’s branch – yellow, Verda’s branch – white, Dick's branch – blue, Milford's branch-Brown, Bill's branch-green, Ernie's branch-orange).

• If you wish to participate in SWIMMING on Saturday afternoon at Crooked Creek, don’t forget your swimwear and towels.

• It’s always fun to play GAMES and look at old PHOTOS . . . feel free to bring board games and photo albums for Saturday afternoon/evening

Schedule of events
Friday, August 3:
• Golf outing at Kalona Golf Course
• Swimming at Kalona Pool for those interested 5-6 PM
• Catered Potluck Picnic at East Union Mennonite Church, 6:30pm (outdoor picnic shelter, weather permitting - bring lawn chairs/lawn games if you'd like!)
*Banana Split for dessert!

Saturday, August 4:
Registration/Check in 9-10am at Crooked Creek Christian Camp, Washingtion, IA
Family Photos 10:00am
Lunch-noon
Shettler Activities
(Olympics, Watermelon Seed Spitting Contest, Swimming, Bocce Tournament and more!)
Evening Meal-6PM
Late night fun - board games and fellowship
Overnight at Crooked Creek Retreat Lodge-Lower Level

Sunday, August 5:
Church Service-9AM
Brunch-10 AM
Business Meeting
* If you are unable to attend the reunion this year, feel free to email us feedback to share or consider at the business meeting in regards to future reunions.
